DJ Tuition in Central Edinburgh

 

The Lessons

cdj1000mk3top_1Lessons can be geared towards the use of Vinyl, CD, Computer or Video DJing. All equipment is provided though students are encouraged to bring their own music and headphones. Typically lessons last for 1hr though longer lessons are available.

A range of experience levels are catered for, from the complete beginner to more experienced DJs. If you are interested in learning more than one media type, it is recommended that 1hr be allocated to each type Vinyl, CD etc.

Beginner’s lessons will introduce you to basic DJ equipment, how it’s connected, how to use it correctly and basic mixing.

DSCF0040Intermediate DJ lessons will demonstrate more advanced techniques including various approaches to beat mixing.

More experienced DJs the lessons are an opportunity to try out different equipment. Typically the lessons are held in a DJ equipment store! If you would like to try some of the latest cool DJ toys get in touch.

 

The Tutors

Lessons are normally taken by John Riddell or Justin Hayes. At times where John and Justin are busy work may be offered to other competent tutors. John has been DJing in night clubs across central Scotland for the past 13 years.  He has also been responsible for the training new DJs at Edinburgh University Students Association for a number of years.

Lessons are either taken at the S.I. Sound and Light DJ store or the tutor’s home. SI store location in google maps.

Lessons in other locations (even outside Edinburgh) are available by negotiation.

 

 

The Cost

Typically lessons are £20/hr. Though discounts may be offered if booking longer lessons or blocks of lessons.

The exact times of lessons are negotiable, get in touch to confirm availability.

Lessons can be purchased in advance as presents.
